World War I A Brief History eBook Charles River Editors
One can't expect much from a brief account of such a conflict but it does increase the reader's appetite for more knowledge of the event which had such a devastating effect on Australians of the early 20th century and on the world in which we live today. Of particular interest to me was the effect on Serbia of its conflict with Austria which caused the Serbs to lose more citizens per unit of population than any other country engaged in the war. I would expect other readers to be similarly stimulated by the Austro-Italian conflict, the British occupation of Salonika and other sideshows (which were anything but to the individuals and countries involved). Gallipoli was but the first of these.Product details

World War I A Brief History eBook Charles River Editors Reviews
...quite good...
a quick read introducing the basics and setting an appetite for more information. I will be looking into more of these brief history books.
Enjoyed reading this. Don't want to ever forget what we went through as freedom isn't free
This books gives an overview of the First World War. It gives information about the causes of the Great War, major events, the trenches, the war at sea and the aftermath. It takes about half an hour to read and gives you the outlines you really need to know, but it is basic and lacks in depth. I got this book as a freebie and I'm glad I did not pay for it.
(Note This book has the same editor as the book 'World War I 101 The TextVook' and may have an identical text.)
